Our Team

Susan McGee and Deborah Baker established Baker McGee Consulting in 2006 in order to provide resource development and capacity building solutions to nonprofit organizations. In alignment with these focus areas, our firm offers a range of customized services designed to build capacity by increasing fundraising impact and optimizing organizational effectiveness. 
Susan McGee, Partner

Susan McGee is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of nonprofit management experience including 11 years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago as COO and CEO; prior to that she worked as an internal consultant for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Planned Parenthood Federation of America providing training and technical assistance to affiliates in the areas of fund development, programs, organizational management and governance. 

 

Susan is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits and the Illinois State Association of Big Brothers Big Sisters and she has served as a coach for the Retirement Research Foundation. Susan received a B.S. degree from Illinois State University and completed advanced coursework at George Williams College.

Deborah Baker, Partner

Deborah Baker has 20 plus years of for profit and nonprofit experience. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Programs and Partnerships for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, a position in which she was responsible for program management, grant writing, and the development of strategic partnerships with corporations.

 

Deborah also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits. Deborah received a B.A. from Swarthmore College and an M.S. Ed. from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University.
